I'm in trouble...

I just realized that I have neglected the blog for over 2 months! Oh what ever am I to do??

So a few updates on what has happened since Christmas:

Lincoln speaks like a kid now. It's mostly cute unless he is telling me that he doesn't like me or screaming NO at me. He has a vocabulary of more words than I can even count now and every day he learns new ones.

We are on our way to getting potty trained, although I doubt we will get it completed before baby #2 gets here. He has a fancy new little boy potty and he tells us when he has to go pretty much every time, but we don't always make it to the potty on time. He's getting there though.

We have been working on small jobs around the house to get ready for the new kiddo. We got a new crib after a debacle with our old one. As it turns out, dropside cribs are illegal to sell, even on craigslist. Apparently the federal government felt that it was ok for my kid to sleep in it, but it's too dangerous for everyone else's children. What a load of junk! So we trashed the old one and got a nice new one from Ikea. We are planning on keeping this one in our room until we figure out the sleeping habits and then we will make arrangements accordingly.

Lincoln has been sleeping in his own room in a big boy bed since the end of January. We haven't completely finished the paint job in there yet, but it is nice to have him out of our room finally.

About the same time he moved into his room he also made the decision to get rid of his pacifiers. We gave them to the Pacifier fairy and she took them to the little babies that need them more. He was well compensated for his sacrifice with a power ranger action figure and a few Hot Wheels cars. We haven't had an issue since the night he gave it up, which is what Gena and I had feared might happen. We weren't interested in a relapse and we got lucky this time.

Here are a couple of the pictures of him in his new room. Once we get the paint job done, we have shelves and pictures to hang on the walls and then it will truly be a kid's room.
